Before and After: Client Reveal – A Place to Call Home
When I began this project, the client and I clicked immediately. She’s so sweet and open, and wanted a bit of help pulling things together in her new home – she and her husband, along with their 2 adorable kids, had recently made the move South from Maryland.
With family pieces and neutral sofas to work with, we strived for balance while adding color in doses for this young family of 4.
I posted about her pretty dining room updates here. Be sure and check that out if you haven’t already.
I thought I’d begin with a few BEFORE shots of the whole project:
living room, keeping room, dining room
And here’s the current living room with maja updates!
I love what we’ve done to spruce up this space!
The walls were already a neutral greige, and she had the neutral sofa too, so I brought in color through pillows and softness in the drapes, as well as texture in the two new wicker chairs.
Shades of cream and blue with a shot of coral are on the textiles.
This color combo is a shocker I know. 🙂
Gray washed end tables with aqua gourd lamps balance the sofa, while the large reclaimed wood frames highlight her beautiful children and bring the eye upward.
A round mirror now graces the space above the fireplace with a bit of shiny mercury on the mantel.
In addition to the dining room and living room, we fluffed the keeping room too. They spend most of their time there as a family, and wanted to keep it bright and fun.
For my Instagram followers – y’all remember this?
Pretty amaze-balls right?
We gave new life to the old wing back in the corner with a graphic punch in aqua and cream.
White ceramic garden stools are able to be moved for little feet to play, and a new table and floor lamp make the blue chair a great place to snuggle.
Here, red gourd lamps give another punch of color with bright, cheerful pillows beneath a mix of whimsical birds and gold sunburst mirrors.
I love the rustic vibe provided with the reclaimed wood and iron end tables too.
Hope y’all liked this mini-tour!
It has been so fun to work with this sweet family!
