Out with the Dark, In with the Light: A Basement Reno

This terrace-level space was a cinch to make over. The client and I have too much fun, and making the decisions with her for a lighter, brighter, more comfortable family space was easy peasy. A neutral space with more texture than color, it’s now ready for holidays and summer time parties – or even just Saturday football games. 😉
The most dramatic effects came from simply painting – painting all of the kitchen cabinetry and walls and trim made the space seem more open and inviting, instead of dark and basement-like. Adding the pendants above the island was a maja transformation too!
And I may be a bit partial, but any space with a Renee Bouchon commissioned original AND a full set of Leigh-Anne O’Brien’s gorgeous oysters is on point! You guys go check out these two friends of mine and their websites – any of their pieces would make FABO Christmas gifts!
