ABOUT US

Classic Design with Southern Hospitality For Over a Decade

Maggie Griffin Design is a full service interior design studio based in Gainesville, Georgia, with clientele that spans across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and the Carolinas. Since launching, Maggie Griffin Design has transformed hundreds of homes across the Southeast and beyond, earning notoriety and a loyal following.

Our approach to designing for modern Southern living blends playful patterns, colorful fabrics, comfortable upholstery, and a pinch of chinoiserie, resulting in spaces that are classic and stylish. Antiques and heirlooms are a hallmark of nearly every home we design, adding unique and personalized touches, while instilling a sense of history and permanence.

We take pride in the deep relationships formed with our clients, getting to know each family member to ensure the spaces we create will truly be functional and adored. It is our goal to integrate each family’s unique lifestyle within their interiors and to create homes where every room will be used. We believe everyone should love the home they live in and are honored to take part in designing that space.

Meet Our Team

Maggie Griffin

Maggie Griffin

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Some things are just destined to be, and it’s safe to say that Maggie Griffin was destined to be an interior designer. At an early age, Maggie’s mother and grandmothers instilled in her a love for design, inviting her to tag along to showhouses in the Atlanta area, which eventually shaped her unique design style. Since then, Maggie earned a degree in Furnishings and Interiors from the University of Georgia and also had the pleasure of studying abroad in Florence, which equipped her with a command of architecture and mastery of textiles.
After marrying her husband David in 2009, Maggie moved from Athens to Gainesville and opened the doors to her very own interior design studio. Maggie’s passion for creating homes for her clients is evident in her attention to detail, from grass clothed walls, to antique China collections, to comfortable furnishings. You’ll often notice her giddiness as she pulls fabric swatches, and if you have an antique sideboard you absolutely must reuse in your dining room reboot, you’ve surely captured her heart.
Natalie Kempker

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Maggie’s right-hand woman, Natalie joined the studio in 2018, proving to be an invaluable asset to the team. Prior to joining MGD, Natalie was heavily involved with the Gainesville community and it’s fundraising efforts. As a mom of three, she often wears many hats, both in her personal and professional life.
She believes she’s found her calling in interior design, relishing in all the action and fast-paced environment — whether it’s on-site visit, a client proposal, or install, Natalie always helps the team take it to the finish line.

She also loves mixing traditional antique pieces with contemporary lines. Havolynne serves clients in the Atlanta metropolitan areas and specializes in E Design projects across the Southeast.
Grace Brackman

Grace Brackman

INTERIOR DESIGNER

Joining the Maggie Griffin Design team in 2016, Grace brings a fresh approach to her projects, using modern pieces mixed with bold colors and luxe textiles. Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Grace services projects in North Georgia and beyond. As a previous assistant buyer for a high end furnishings and gift shop, her eye for quality merchandise and accessories is evident in her interiors.
Like Maggie, Grace also graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Furnishing and Interiors. When not designing, Grace enjoys being a tomboy at heart, engaging in sports, hiking, and rounds of golf.

STUDIO MANAGER

Maggie joined MGD in 2020 as a supporting role in the office. From keeping the studio in order to prepping for installs, Maggie seems to do it all. An artist herself, Maggie brings a unique and trusted perspective to the design team.
Her eye is trained for color, and she truly has a passion to dress up any wall with beautiful artwork. When designing, Maggie loves to incorporate small yet personal and meaningful touches to each room — she’s especially loved doing so in her son’s nursery.
Abbye Coody

Abbye Coody

Creative Director

Joining the team as Creative Director in 2021, Abbye has spent the last five years working as a Senior Account Manager for a leading makeup brush manufacturer and designer in Atlanta. Abbye’s work in design easily translates to interiors, coupled with her lifelong exposure to beautiful antiques, classic shapes, and chinoiserie touches through her mother, grandmothers, and sister.
Moving from the corporate world to a blooming small business, Abbye brings a rich discipline for structure, an eye for design, and a vast library of product knowledge and pairings. When she isn’t in the office, you can find Abbye experiencing live music, traveling, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Emily Jiles

Emily Jiles

Interior Designer

Emily's background is in finance and accounting, however, she's always had a passion for creating a beautiful space. Growing up visiting antique stores and auctions, she loves to hunt for the perfect find. Emily's design style is a mix of old and new, a spicy antelope print, and anything with her signature colors-blue and white. You can almost always find her with an iced coffee in hand probably headed to her favorite thrift stores.
