A Wedding Weekend
Working with your BFF + long road trip to VA + flowers, flowers, flowers = the best time ever
Getting to tag along with James for this amazing event combo (rehearsal dinner and interior florals for reception) was a dream and quite an honor! I was about 9 weeks along in my pregnancy and hadn’t quite announced it to everyone yet – but James and Jason made sure this lil preggie mama was taken care of. Now that I am 23 weeks along, its evident that time has FLOWN by!
Along the way, we spotted some wayward magnolia branches – James’ Suburban was already packed, but we couldn’t leave these gorgeous branches behind….they’d been hit by a car it seemed and we knew they’d add to the loveliness we already had planned. 🙂
And we couldn’t miss an opportunity to snap a pic by the Welcome to VA sign. Here’s Jason, James’ assistant, happy that we were finally {almost} there.
Our first day on the job entailed our trip to the wholesale florist to gather our tools – which included these incredible green cymbidium orchids.
And after a few day’s work, we had the rehearsal dinner site looking fabo!
James’ entry arrangement really set the tone! It was beyond gorgeous!
We had the mantels decked with more magnolia, orchid, amaranthus, eucalyptus, hydrangea and roses than it had ever seen before!
An entry chest got some fabo love too
As did the entry into the courtyard with these arrangements on a pair of columns
The ballroom was decked with more arrangements on mirrored columns
And lighted trees lined the room. It was amazing! James’ vision for the space was magnificent, and to see it all come to life was really something!
Here are a few snaps from the cocktail area and courtyard for the rehearsal dinner
And a few more of the dinner space
On to the reception site…
The bride had the tent at the reception under control with gorgeous arrangements in her favorite flowers! So, we had a ball placing arrangements all over the home of the parents of the groom…here are some of our favorites.
James did this incredible statement arrangement in the entry of the home.
And designed this lovely vignette in the billiards room
And really made the entry something special with these amazing pumpkins and garlands and lanterns!
James designed this vignette in the side garden – its where the bridal party and family gathered for photos when they arrived at the reception from the church. It should be the cover of Town and Country!
The grounds were beautiful in October
We helped create an homage to the groom with this handsome cigar bar
And tucked charming arrangements in every nook and cranny inside the main house
The wedding planner set up this fun favor bar – all different tastes of peanuts! I had to share this too…
Hope you enjoyed seeing a peek into these lovely events that I was honored to be a part of!
